This worries me: “Kinect-Ready: Custom Kinect port on the back of the console that directly hooks up to the Kinect sensor for controller-free fun.”
Does this mean that I won’t be able to use Natal (Kinect) on my Elite since I do not have this port?….If this is the case, I will wait ’til they phase out the Elite and pray for a RROD

I sincerely doubt that you won’t be able to use Kinect. I’m fairly certain that they would provide some adapter (for $50 or so) that would allow you to connect the Kinect unit to one of the usb ports (or controller ports which are essentially the same). I honestly believe you are safe but then again, all of this is speculation on my part and MS could just as easily require the slim box for Kinect. Although if that happened, I don’t believe it would be long before some third party created the adapter that I spoke of.
Oh, BTW, thanks for taking the time to post. Now keep it up! And encourage maverick.

Since they are including wireless N in the new Xbox, they will probably charge the $99.99 they will be losing from people not having to get the wireless adapter anymore and “force” us to get the Kinect-to-USB adapter for the same price….I haven’t seen any cool videos of Kinect in action, maybe we should start a thread?
I was actually shocked that I broke “the news” on pic-e-bank, slackin AZero
My neighbor actually told me about the new Xbox because he has a 1st gen 20GB model and was looking for a quieter model. When he powers it on it sounds like the harrier from COD is floating above his apartment lol it really is ridiculous.

Just saw that they will be discontinuing the Arcade and Elite models, there will be only one Xbox now….they should call it the Highlander model….Best Buy has Arcade’s for $149.99 and Elite’s for $249.99 now. Also Kinect is $149.99 at BB, and says it is compatible with all Xbox’s, I checked the * and it says it only needs 175MB of free-space, no mention of an adapter……hmmmmm

There are better deals. I think Wal-Mart and Target have the arcade for $149.99 with $50 gift card so $99.99
Also, I don’t think they will charge $99 for just an adapter. I think it will be $50 or less since you also have to by the actual Kinect kit (there will probably be one in some of the kits as well).
And as far as breaking the news…it’s hard maintaining a site daily by yourself (the way I would like to anyway) with other things going on.

This is probably old now but anantech has the interior views and other specs: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3774/welcome-to-valhalla-inside-the-new-250gb-xbox-360-slim
I cant believe the slim uses half the power and is twice as quiet, thats awesome.
@AZero, it sounds like you need to quit all the other things you have going on lol
